Reasons Why I'm in Love With England: #0...?

As you may or may not  know, this upcoming summer 2012 I will be studying abroad in England! I really could not be more excited!

Since the summer programs in England through International Academic Programs (the study abroad office) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison did not really offer classes that I was particularly interested in, or that related directly to either history or political science, I have decided to take a leap of faith an go on a non-UW program. Yikes!

My friend Lee, who graduated with a degree in International Studies and who has been abroad more times than I can count, suggested I look into the programs at the Institute for Study Abroad at Butler University (IFSA Butler). Lo and behold! I found a perfect summer program in England!

IFSA Butler offers an eight-week program in July and August hosted by both Pembroke and King's Colleges at Cambridge University. Cambridge! I know, right?! They offered classes I was interested in and had a seemingly very organized program, with great advisors, staff and faculty members, and it looked overall to be an experience I would truly enjoy.

I was lucky enough to be accepted, and since then I have been psyching myself up to go (which probably isn't really even necessary, because I'm ridiculously excited as it is...). I've been posting things about England to my Facebook profile, which to me, are some (or all) of the reasons that I am in love with England and so enthusiastic about studying there. These have been my "Reasons Why I'm in Love with England" posts, and I thought I would recreate them here in an environment free of all the other Facebook nonsense I partake in on a regular basis.

Enjoy!
